Workshop: Butoh - Deconstruct the Darkness
14:00 - 16:30ImpulsTanz, Vienna
Never fixed in culture or time, this dance remains a personal investigation.
Allow images to change your body or your action. Transform your condition until you perceive your programming. Deconstruct your habits. Develop energy-efficient and fluid movement. Intensively examine yourself through new frames. The training will encourage physical and mental receptivity as well as precise physical engagement.
Butoh dance belongs to mystery. Walk, crawl, roll, spiral, extend, contract, transform the dance. -

Workshop: Dao Yin
17:45 - 19:45Dao Yin practices focus on the interconnected nature of sinews, muscle and bone. The training opens and stretches the channels of the body to develop a more resilient, strong and healthy web of tissue. The solar plexus and lower abdomen initiate the movement of limbs. Conversely, the movement or condition of limbs can affect the internal areas of the torso. Spiral motion and extension will open the joints and tissues, allowing energy to travel more efficiently through the body.

Performance:These are the Ones We Fell Among
Fri + Sat: 8pm, Sun: 4pmODC Theater, San Francisco
Two trapped and transforming humans, enmeshed and enjoying each other most of the time, inhabit a world reminiscent of Samuel Beckett and Dr. Seuss. “These are the Ones We Fell Among” responds to the pandemic, to extinction, to love and to loss. This evening length work is informed by the movement, behavior, metaphors and mythologies surrounding earth’s largest land mammal: the elephant.
Conceived, choreographed and directed by Ann Carlson.
Dana Iova-Koga and Shinichi lova-Koga are performing, supported by 20+ year inkBoat collaborators: composers Carla Kihlstedt and Shahzad Ismaily, lighting designer Allen Willner and set designer Frank Lee.
