Albany StormAll Day
Albany Bulb, Albany, California
A public invitation into the process of developing “The Storm in My House” on the land that inspired the development of this project. Throughout the day, both inkBoat members and workshop participants will be performing in the space. Audience members will be invited to come, go, move around. With Suki O’Kane, Amy Rathbone, Kamerin McDonald, Shinichi Iova-Koga and workshop participants.
Fifth Storm is the fifth experiment, the fifth investigation in the creation of The Storm in My House. This work concerns the precarious position artists, and all of us, maintain in the face of social upheaval, economic inequality, displacement, and deterioration of the social safety net; bodies experiencing crisis and humor; recorded voices of those who struggle for food and shelter; an excavation of the perceived lines between any two of us.

Workshop: Winter Intensive9:00uhr - 16:00uhr
Universe 9, Hergiswil, Switzerland
Led by Shinichi and Dana Iova-Koga, this will be a unique training opportunity, a chance to train, develop and articulate your abilities, awareness and possibilities as a human, mover or performer. Participants are invited to make significant and lasting improvements to mobility, perception and compositional awareness.
Participants will train 5 days a week (Saturday and Sunday off), 5 hours per day from December 9 to February 5 in a studio at the base of Mt. Pilatus, at Lake Luzern in Switzerland.
We hone internal sensibilities and physical expression. We work with physical/psychological risk and embodied images to redraw and refine the body map. This training requires a strong commitment of body/mind and time.
