    Workshop: Land Inside

    10am - 5pm

Universe 9, Hergiswil and Dreilindenpark, Luzern, Switzerland

In this two-day workshop led by Dana and Shinichi Iova-Koga we will develop qualities of movement, our connection to the ground and how the shifting of our axis and body center brings motion. We will work both indoors, (at Universe 9 in Hergiswil) to focus on the internal dynamics of the body, as well as outdoors (Dreilindenpark in Luzern) to experience the connection between our bodies and the diverse textures of a natural landscape. All ages and levels of experience welcome. All that is required is curiosity and the willingness to get some earth on you.

    Fifth Storm

    8:00pm

    CounterPulse, SF

Fifth Storm is the fifth experiment, the fifth investigation in the creation of The Storm in My House. This work concerns the precarious position artists, and all of us, maintain in the face of social upheaval, economic inequality, displacement, and deterioration of the social safety net; bodies experiencing crisis and humor; recorded voices of those who struggle for food and shelter; an excavation of the perceived lines between any two of us.

    Workshop: Winter Intensive

    9:00uhr - 16:00uhr

    Universe 9, Hergiswil, Switzerland

    Shinichi and Dana Iova-Koga

Led by Shinichi and Dana Iova-Koga, this will be a unique training opportunity, a chance to train, develop and articulate your abilities, awareness and possibilities as a human, mover or performer. Participants are invited to make significant and lasting improvements to mobility, perception and compositional awareness.

Participants will train 5 days a week (Saturday and Sunday off), 5 hours per day from December 9 to March 3 (with 2 holiday breaks) in a studio at the base of Mt. Pilatus, at Lake Luzern in Switzerland.
We hone internal sensibilities and physical expression. We work with physical/psychological risk and embodied images to redraw and refine the body map. This training requires a strong commitment of body/mind and time.
