Form no Form
Through the repetition of form, we train our bodies to achieve balance, internal and external connectivity and precision. In this workshop, various proposals and exercises are presented that both establish and disrupt physical form to engage the principles that lay underneath our practice. We work rigorously to disrupt and embrace habits. Physical puzzles, deep listening and engaged physical conversations promote attentive listening.

Workshop for Men
6:30pm - 9:30pmMountain Home Studio 15 Ravine Way, Kentfield CA 94904
Please join us for Dance With Anna Halprin: “Workshop For Men” Anna Halprin in collaboration with Shinichi lova-Koga.
In early times men were strong dancers. They danced for the welfare of their community, to make the crops grow, to bring sun or rain and become strong warriors.
Shinichi lova-Koga will lead you in a session to free the body and dance as men dance. All men are welcome, no dance experience necessary.
Shinichi will encourage physical and mental receptivity, a reduction of contracted muscles and awareness of minute bodily adjustments and interior textures. Our aim is to integrate polarities within the body, the inside/outside, left/right, head/toe, visceral/refined, image/sensate. This builds a coherent body ready to embrace the chaotic stream of the subconscious. Participants are asked to commit to the unknown. We will move, sound and speak in duets, solos and groups. Wear loose clothing and be prepared to shed your planning mind.

Beowulf
1 hour before sunsetSan Francisco Maritime National Historical Park
This production of BEOWULF radically departs from that most ancient poem of the same name. When we peel back the layers of story and character, what reveals itself? What dreams emerge? As we tell tales of legendary heroes and monsters, we also reflect on our current times. Join us to discover the weapons of word, body and sound created by We Players, inkBoat and Rova Saxophone Quartet in this epic battle to discover our humanity through the lens of monstrosity.
